RSF Calls for Gui Minhai's Release During Swedish State Visit to China

As Swedish Minister for Foreign Affairs Maria Malmer Stenergard visits China, Reporters Without Borders (RSF) has urged her to demand the release of Swedish publisher Gui Minhai, abducted 10 years ago.

Gui Minhai, the only European Union citizen detained for defending press freedom in China, was forcibly disappeared by the Chinese regime, with no information about his whereabouts disclosed for the past five years.

Our goal: to leave no breach of freedom of information unreported.

RSF has addressed a letter to Minister Malmer Stenergard, coinciding with the tenth anniversary of Gui Minhai's abduction on 17 October.

Author's summary: RSF urges Sweden to secure Gui Minhai's release.
