A ProPublica investigation found that federal agents have held scores of U.S. citizens, some for more than 24 hours.
According to the investigation, over 170 US citizens were detained by Trump's immigration agents.
“If the officers learn that the individual they stopped is a U.S. citizen or otherwise lawfully in the United States,” Justice Brett Kavanaugh wrote, “they promptly let the individual go.”
However, this is not the reality many citizens have experienced. Americans have been subjected to physical abuse, including being dragged, tackled, beaten, tased, and shot by immigration agents.
