Large Police Presence Closes Clark Middle School
The Anchorage Police Department responded to the 3400-block of Commercial Drive for an investigation into a disturbance with a weapon Thursday morning.
According to the APD, they received multiple reports of gunfire in the area at approximately 7:29 a.m. Callers reported hearing several rounds, and at least one witness saw an adult male discharge a firearm before fleeing on foot.
- Officers arrived on the scene and established containment, beginning a search for the suspect.
- During the search, one officer was reportedly fired upon.
- Additional patrol units responded to assist, and the APD’s SWAT team was activated to conduct a search of the area.
