Thousands of Fulani ethnic militia have occupied 17 of 23 counties in Benue State, aiming for a state takeover.
The Catholic farming town of Aye-Twar in Katsina-Ala County, Benue State, has been reduced to ruins after months of assaults by Fulani armed militias.
"They came to destroy our farms and take our land,"
said Kwazan Samuel, a 45-year-old farmer and father of three from Kwaghzan Village.
The town, once known for its lush farmlands and strong Tiv Catholic community, now lies deserted — a wasteland of ashes and sorrow.
