Christian Nationalism as a Power Grab
According to Brian Kaylor, Christian nationalists are willing to abandon their long-held values and reinterpret the Bible to support Donald Trump because
they want power.
Kaylor, a Baptist minister and editor-in-chief of Word&Way, made this statement in his new book, The Bible According to Christian Nationalists: Exploiting Scripture for Political Power.
He noted that
the Trump era has really shown how quick conservative Christian nationalists are to just jettison what presumably had been longstanding beliefs and character matters, adding that they will change their position to align with Trump's statements in pursuit of power.
