Testing Helly Hansen's lightweight Everdown jacket for warmth, weather resistance, and packability in the mountains.
The Helly Hansen Odin Everdown Hooded Jacket is comparable to synthetic insulated jackets like the Rab Xenon and the Keela Solo, but it's filled with down, making it lighter, more breathable, and warmer.
I've been testing it in stormy conditions, including Storm Amy, and on a campout on Carnedd Llewelyn, where I stayed outside in freezing conditions to marvel at a sunset and cloud inversion.
The jacket is very snug, with an impressive warmth-to-weight ratio, but has a short cut at the hem, which may not suit everyone.
