Marathon Residents Arrested for Alleged Shoplifting in Key Largo
Two Marathon residents were arrested on Oct. 11 for reportedly stealing $400 worth of merchandise from a Key Largo retail store.
The sheriff’s office was called to Bealls at Tradewinds Plaza at about 6 p.m. after an employee reported two suspects were stealing. Deputies found 40-year-old Collazo Rodriguez and 41-year-old Nieskeret Santos Roque in possession of multiple stolen items with retail tags still attached.
Items used to defeat anti-theft security devices were also found. Rodriguez and Roque were charged with theft and possession of anti-shoplifting devices. Both suspects were taken to jail.
More charges may be pending as the investigation continues.
