Thousands of unsafe tumble dryers recalled, thanks to Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service

Recall of Unsafe Tumble Dryers

Thousands of tumble dryers have been recalled due to safety concerns, following an incident investigated by Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service.

"We are lucky we were in the room at the time of the incident. It's scary to think of how different the outcome may have been otherwise with how fast the fire spread." - Steve, fire victim

The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) worked with the fire victim and conducted a forensic examination of the tumble dryer. As a result, the OPSS issued a 'requirement to warn' notice to Haier, the manufacturer of eight affected brands.

Over 17,000 heat pump tumble dryer owners have been advised to stop using their appliances immediately, as a fire risk still exists despite modifications made by Haier after safety reports in May.
