Adjudication is the process of determining which flagged mail and provisional ballots are accepted or rejected and tallying write-in votes.
Traditionally, adjudication begins the Friday after elections, but this year it will start on Thursday, November 6, at 9 a.m. in Courtroom A on the third floor of the Penn Place Building, 20 N.
According to County Election Director Emily Cook, the earlier start is due to changes in procedures to prioritize adjudication preparation.
The adjudication process is open to the public, and additional sessions will be scheduled as necessary to complete the process.
