Man Arrested for Threatening to Shoot Up Atlanta Airport

A 49-year-old man, Billy Joe Cagle, was arrested at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport after threatening to "shoot it up", according to Atlanta Police Chief Darin Schierbaum.

The Atlanta Police Department was informed of the threat by Cartersville police at around 9:40 a.m. Cagle's family had reported that he was heading to the airport and had threatened to shoot, and had also been livestreaming on social media before entering the airport.

Atlanta Police Chief Darin Schierbaum said he believes Cagle was inside the airport initially to scope it out.
