Problems with Amazon's cloud computing service affected various services, including:

At Paesan's Pizza in Latham, issues with payment processing were experienced, with Mastercard transactions being unavailable, while American Express cards were still being accepted.
So normally when we come in the morning, I open up, turn on the computers, and all of a sudden all the online orders come up and this morning we had zero. I'm like 'what's going on?' Things slowly started to come back online.
Owner Frank Scavio felt fortunate that the outage didn't occur on a Friday, which is their busiest day.
