A judge dismissed a lawsuit challenging Antwon Womack’s win in a Birmingham Board of Education race, citing that it was filed too late.
“Plaintiff filed said contest three months after qualifying closed; there can be no argument made that time lapse is ‘reasonable,’”
Judge Chuck Price wrote in his order. Womack won the District 8 school board runoff by 25 votes, with 50.84% of the vote, against Pam Bass who had 49.16%. Bass challenged Womack’s victory, alleging he did not live in the board district.
