Team Rachel Homan, fresh off winning a record 19th Grand Slam title, traveled to Virginia, Minn. for the 2025 United States Steel Pan Continental Curling Championships.
The team, consisting of Homan, vice-skip Tracy Fleury, second Emma Miskew, lead Sarah Wilkes, alternate Rachelle Brown, and coaches Renee Sonnenberg and Viktor Kjell, arrived Monday afternoon and had a practice session before their opening game.
In their first game, the two-time defending Canadian and world champions lost 11-5 to Japan's Team Satsuki Fujisawa at the Iron Trail Motors Event Center.
Team Homan immediately embarked on a long cross-country trip to get to Virginia, Minn.
