The Crestwood Board of Education has hired a new elementary school principal, reigniting debate about administrative hires amidst the state-budget impasse.
On the 17th, with two school board members absent and one recently resigned, the Crestwood school board appointed Sean McLaughlin as principal of Fairview Elementary School.
McLaughlin's salary will be $106,131, prorated to his time served, with his start date pending his release from his current employer.
He replaces Kevin Seyer, whom the Crestwood school board promoted to the position of "Assistant to the Superintendent (Director of Elementary Education & Curriculum K-12)", effective September.
