Microsoft Admits File Explorer Preview Pane Issue in Windows 11
Microsoft has confirmed that the File Explorer Preview pane will not work by default for internet files in Windows 11 25H2 and 24H2 due to security reasons.
According to Microsoft, if a file is created locally, it can still be previewed, but files downloaded from the internet will not be supported by the File Explorer Preview pane.
File Explorer Panes
File Explorer has two panes by default: Details and Preview. The Details pane provides a brief breakdown of file information, while the Preview pane allows for quick preview of a file's content without opening it.
