Thousands of residents in Burlington and Sedro-Woolley were left without power on Saturday morning after a car crash caused heavy damage to transformers.
The crash, which occurred around 7 a.m. at Wicker Road and Fruitdale Road, led to a power outage affecting over 5,400 customers in the area. By 1 p.m., the number of affected customers had decreased to over 1,000 in Sedro-Woolley.

Power was mostly restored to residents by Saturday afternoon, with the remaining customers expected to have power restored by 2:30 p.m., according to Puget Sound Energy.
