The San Jose Sharks' game against the Minnesota team was expected to be another story of blowing a third-period lead. However, Macklin Celebrini saved the day, securing a 6-5 OT victory.
The Sharks dominated the first period, 2-0, but errors led to the opponent's goals. Vincent Iorio's high-sticking penalty resulted in a power-play goal by Marcus Johansson. An unforced error between Tyler Toffoli and Vincent Desharnais led to a 2-on-1 goal by Marco Rossi.
"That was our own doing," said San Jose Sharks head coach Ryan Warsofsky. "That's one big lesson."
The same pattern repeated in the third period, but the Sharks managed to regain their lead.
