A record wave of new liquefied natural gas production capacity coming online until 2030 is set to transform gas market dynamics by strengthening global supply security and easing market pressure, the International Energy Agency said on Monday.
The IEA said in its "Gas 2025" medium-term outlook report that 300 billion cubic metres per year of LNG export capacity is set to be added by 2030, primarily in the United States and Qatar.
Barring unexpected disruptions, this is forecast to result in lower prices in the years ahead and spur higher demand.
