Abbotsford Sees 3 Shootings in Less Than 3 Days

A 41-year-old man was airlifted to hospital with a serious gunshot wound on Monday morning, marking the third shooting in Abbotsford in less than 3 days.

The most recent incident occurred just before noon in the 33200 block of George Ferguson Way. According to Sgt. Paul Walker, media relations officer for the Abbotsford Police Department, officers were called to the area at approximately 11:45 a.m. and found the 41-year-old man suffering from a serious gunshot wound.

"At this time, this incident is being treated as targeted and is not believed to be connected to the ongoing extortion-related investigations or the earlier homicide on Ridgeview Drive,"

said Walker. An air ambulance was called to transport the man to the hospital, while officers arrested a second man believed to be a suspect in the incident.
