Renovations to Steubenville's Belleview Park Pool Progressing Well
Patrons may notice some changes when visiting the Belleview Park pool next summer. This year, crews have been working to update the pool.
Steubenville Parks and Recreation Director Lori Fetherolf said the pool is about 50 to 60 years old and was last renovated in 1989.
"It did take longer than we had planned, but I think it will be well worth it,” Fetherolf said. “I told my boss, the city manager, that it's almost like a brand-new pool. We just have to take care of it from this point on.”
Several renovations went into this $1 million project, including:
- Rebuilding the bottom of the pool
- Rebuilding the entire deck
- Installing a brand-new slide
The project took longer than the city anticipated after crews discovered that the bottom of the pool needed to be replaced.
