The Bantam River Riders played their last game of the season at Max Clunie Field on Sunday, defeating the Hague Junior Panthers 27-8.
The River Riders trailed 8-0 at half-time but managed to come back and win the game. This was the first-ever matchup between the two communities.
“We typically in the fall play 12 –a-side in the KFL (Kinsmen Football League), but this year we didn’t have the people for that, so this was our first fall playing six -a-side,”
said Ashley Viklund, coach of the Bantam River Riders, explaining the unusual circumstances that led to the matchup.
