Louise Butcher, a breast cancer survivor, shares her story of resilience and determination.
In March 2022, Louise discovered a lump on her left breast, despite having a clear mammogram just three weeks prior. Her husband, Paul, encouraged her to get it checked out.
‘Best to get it checked out,’
Her doctor, although not overly concerned, referred her to the breast clinic for a scan. To cope with the uncertainty, Louise focused on her children, Oliver and Pollyanna, and her marathon training.
After being diagnosed with breast cancer, Louise underwent a double mastectomy. Now, she's learned to embrace her new body and is even running marathons topless.
