Following the recent scandal at ELTE, thousands of international students in Hungary may face tightened scholarship contracts.
A lecture by Alexander Yakobson, a historian from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, was disrupted on 16 October, prompting two ministers and the university rector to demand accountability.

The issue arose when students attending the lecture wore keffiyehs and shouted that the lecture was political propaganda supporting Israeli genocide, causing a disturbance that could not be calmed.
