Council-owned For-profit Provider Reports 'Exceptional' Year
A for-profit affordable housing provider owned by a borough council has reported a £1.2m profit, in what it described as an “exceptional” year.
Loddon Homes, owned by Wokingham Borough Council, reported a £1.2m post-tax profit in the year to March 2025, up from a loss of £68,879 the previous year.
- Revenue surged 59% to £2.7m, from £1.7m in 2024.
- The for-profit was registered in 2016 and provides supported housing, shared ownership, and social and affordable rent for residents in the council area.

Its aims include increasing affordable housing supply, generating income for the council, and delivering housing solutions for high-spending council services. Any savings are then invested back into communities and services throughout the borough.
