ATCO Electric Yukon Cancels Planned Outage

ATCO Electric Yukon has cancelled a planned power outage for parts of Watson Lake on election day to avoid disrupting the democratic process.

According to Tony Badry, manager at ATCO Electric Yukon, the electrical work was originally set for November 3, but has been postponed to another day.

“We are taking steps to correct it,”

said Badry, regarding the initial plan that coincided with the 2025 general territorial elections.

David Rozsa, from Elections Yukon, confirmed that he spoke with ATCO Electric Yukon about the matter, which led to the cancellation of the outage.
