Heartbroken owner warns of ‘wonder drug’ dangers after beloved pet euthanised

Heartbroken Owner Warns of "Wonder Drug" Dangers

A heartbroken Armagh woman is urging the public to be aware of the dangers of a common arthritis treatment for dogs after her beloved Yorkshire Terrier had to be euthanised.

Her 15-year-old terrier, Millar, was given an injection of Librela to help ease his pain. Prior to the use of Librela, Millar had been on Loxicom, with some side effects including diarrhoea.

The owner had been seeking a more long-lasting and comfortable solution to his pain, and Librela was sold to her as a "wonder drug" for osteoarthritis.

Millar was euthanised just over eight weeks after receiving the Librela injection, administered by a trained local veterinarian.

The owner is now warning others of the potential dangers of Librela.
