San Jose State plays their first game at CEFCU Stadium in nearly a month, looking to revive bowl hopes against Hawaii on Saturday night.
The Spartans (2-5, 1-2 Mountain West) need a strong finish to extend their bowl streak to four straight seasons. They come into the game after a bye, following consecutive losses at Wyoming and Utah State where they blew fourth-quarter leads.
Four of the Spartans' five losses have been by a touchdown or less, and their two wins were by a combined 10 points, both at home. As head coach Ken Niumatalolo said:
"This is a pivotal game for our season. We still have a lot to play for, but you got to start with one (win)."
The game against Hawaii is crucial for the Spartans' season.
