ESPN's Frozen Frenzy has taken place for the third time, but the NHL is considering changes to the event. The Frozen Frenzy features all 32 NHL teams playing in conjunction with an ESPN whiparound, following the NFL RedZone model.
The event, which was held on October 28 for the 2025-26 season, showcases as many goals as possible for eight hours, hosted by John Buccigross and Kevin Weekes. However, not everyone is pleased with the current format.
“Nothing is decided for sure yet, but talks are already underway to tweak the Frozen Frenzy for next season,”
reported Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic. The current format features staggered start times, with each game beginning 15 minutes apart.
Possible changes to the Frozen Frenzy are being discussed for the 2026 edition.
