Woodland Trust Scotland Secures Glen Quey Moss with £250,000 Gift

A £250,000 donation from the Hume family has enabled the Woodland Trust Scotland to purchase Glen Quey Moss, a 57-hectare area of peatbog and grassland on the Clackmannanshire–Perth and Kinross border.

The donation, from the influential Hume family, has allowed the charity to add the new site to its Glen Devon Woodlands estate, completing a connected network of over 1,200 hectares of conservation land and linking up 35km of visitor footpaths.

“We are indebted to our supporters the Hume family whose £250,000 donation enabled us to buy Glen Quey Moss. This new land adds 57 hectares to our Glen Devon estate, in addition to the 12 square kilometres we already own.” - Alastair Seaman, Woodland Trust Director for Scotland

The new site fills a key missing piece between Geordie’s Wood and Glen Quey Wood, expanding the charity's conservation efforts.
