Washtenaw County Announces Opening of Winter Emergency Shelter
Washtenaw County, in partnership with community organizations, announces the opening of its Winter Emergency Shelter and Warming Locations for the 2025–2026 season.
These services provide safe, warm shelter and essential resources for people experiencing a housing crisis during the coldest months.
- Winter emergency shelter season: November 10, 2025 - April 14, 2026
- Overnight shelter available each night starting at 7:00 p.m.
“These collaborative community services are made possible through a strong coalition of housing partners known as the Washtenaw County Continuum of Care (CoC)...” - Toni Kayumi, OCED Director
The coalition includes nearly 30 local organizations dedicated to preventing and ending homelessness, such as the Shelter Association of Washtenaw County and Housing Access for Washtenaw County.
