No. 1 UConn Women's Basketball Tips Off 2025/26 NCAA Season
The No. 1 UConn Huskies will begin their 2025/26 season against the No. 20 Louisville Cardinals at the Armed Forces Classic.
NCAA basketball is back, and this matchup will be the first-ever women's edition of the military-site showdown, with UConn facing a ranked opponent for the first time since 2017.
"It's going to be a lot of learning with five new players," said Huskies head coach Geno Auriemma. "There's a lot of exciting things that are ahead of us… and I want to help them overcome some of those challenges we're going to have."
UConn is the reigning champion and will look to start their season strong despite losing key players.
