Homes of Heroes project seeks stories of Paris, Ont. veterans ahead of Remembrance Day

Homes of Heroes Project

A group of Paris locals is collecting stories about hometown veterans and locals who continue to serve ahead of Remembrance Day.

The "Homes of Heroes" project aims to honour their military service, give younger generations an understanding of the cost of war, and recognize and support the work of Paris Branch 29 of the Royal Canadian Legion.

It’s getting late to hear some of these stories and so I thought they should probably be written down and made public so they don’t get lost entirely.

Neil Edwards, a former Paris high school teacher, joined forces with veterans Chuck Prystupa and Mark Ford, and local historian Steve Pinkett, to create a project that maps out local veterans and gives a glimpse into who they were as people.

Author's summary: Collecting stories of Paris veterans.
