Claim Misleads About 'Mortgage Fraud' on Trump's Cabinet
A liberal commentator on a CNN roundtable claimed that three Trump Cabinet members committed 'mortgage fraud', but this statement is misleading.
According to documents published by ProPublica, three Trump administration Cabinet members signed mortgages classifying separate houses as their principal residences. However, the documents required that they make the homes their principal residence for a year, and there is no information showing they failed to do that.
Notably, there have been no government officials' statements or news reports about any of these Cabinet members being targeted for prosecution.
In a separate case, Federal prosecutors indicted New York Attorney General Letitia James on charges related to mortgage fraud stemming from how she classified a Norfolk, Virginia, house on a document.
