Newsom Vs. Trump 2028: California Governor Considers White House Bid
California Governor Gavin Newsom has been hinting at a presidential run for months, and he recently made his intentions more official.
“Yeah, I’d be lying otherwise,”
Newsom told CBS Sunday Morning's Robert Costa, admitting he is giving "serious thought" to a White House bid. He added,
“I’d just be lying, and I’m not — I can’t do that,”and stated that
“Fate will determine that,”regarding his potential 2028 presidential run.
Newsom has been testing the waters in Red States and criticizing Donald Trump, but he will not make a final decision about 2028 until after the 2026 midterms.
