Typically, companies with multi-building campuses purchase a standard monthly capacity of electricity based on their maximum usage needs, even if they rarely consume that amount. This was a problem that bothered COI Energy founder and CEO, SaLisa Berrien, who has 25 years of experience as an energy engineer at major utility companies.
After earning her degree in mechanical engineering and later an MBA, Berrien was motivated to work in the energy field because, as a child, there were times when her parents couldn’t pay their electric bill.
