New Play 'Spycraft' at Stirling Theatre

A new play at the Stirling Festival Theatre is a wartime thriller about a secret agent using knitting to relay secrets to spies during the Second World War.

The play, Spycraft, is a fictional thriller inspired by real people and events. It was created by playwrights and producers Claire Ross Dunn and Kirk Dunn, who combined their loves of theatre and knitting in the plot.

"We discovered that women had been performing these espionage duties for many years in warfare" and going unnoticed because they were women, said Kirk Dunn.

The idea for the play arose from research done for their past play, The Knitting Pilgrim, which uncovered the use of coded knitting to relay spies' secrets.

Author's summary: Spycraft is a wartime thriller play inspired by real events and people.
