DeFeet, a cycling sock maker based in Hickory, NC, is shifting from a fully vertical manufacturing model to sourcing certain tasks locally.
DeFeet has been a fully vertical company for 33 years. Now we’re responding to the crosswinds blowing across domestic manufacturing.
This change is due to domestic workforce challenges and a desire to access the latest knitting machinery and skills in AI and augmented reality.
Founder Shane Cooper stressed that the move will focus on local knitting partners, saying
