Over 1,000 Objects Stolen from Oakland Museum of California
A break-in at the Oakland Museum of California's storage facility has resulted in the theft of over 1,000 objects.
Museum leaders and investigators suspect that the stolen items may soon appear in local pawn shops and second-hand stores.
Among the stolen items are:
- Modernist jewelry
- Native American baskets
- Daguerreotypes
- Contemporary everyday objects, such as political pins, trophies, and souvenirs
The theft occurred on October 15 at 3:30am, and was discovered by museum workers the following day.
A thief or group of thieves stole more than 1,000 objects from the off-site storage facility of the Oakland Museum of California.
