BYD Orders Massive Recall: Over 115,000 EVs Pulled for Safety Fixes
BYD, a leading Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, has announced its largest recall to date, affecting over 115,000 cars due to safety risks tied to design and battery issues.
- 44,535 Tang series SUVs built between March 2015 and July 2017 are being recalled due to design flaws that could cause malfunctions.
- 71,248 Yuan Pro electric cars made between February 2021 and August 2022 are being recalled due to problems in battery installation that could increase fire risk.

BYD has filed a plan to replace parts and update systems free of charge. The recall was initiated after China's market watchdog, the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR), found safety risks in the affected vehicles.
