Forever Canadian Petition
A petition rumoured to have collected over 300,000 pro-Canada signatures is nearing its goal.
Former cabinet minister Thomas Lukaszuk is on the final stretch of his "Unity Bus" tour, collecting signatures for the Forever Canadian petition, which asks: "Do you agree that Alberta should remain in Canada?"
- The petition requires 293,976 in-person signatures to be approved and sent to an MLA committee for consideration of a province-wide referendum.
- More than 4,000 volunteers are involved in the pro-Canada campaign.
