Disturbing Case of Abuse in Donegal
A Donegal woman, who was subjected to a horrific ordeal by her step-grandfather, has spoken out about her experience.
According to evidence presented at Letterkenny Circuit Court, the man, who is married to the woman's grandmother, forced her to watch him perform sexual acts on himself while dressed in women's clothing.
The girl, who was between 9 and 10 years old at the time, was warned that she had to keep the "secret" or some of her family members could be killed.
The man attempted to bribe her into silence, giving her money and presents, and even threatened that she could go to jail if she told anyone.
The woman, now an adult, remains in "constant fear" as a result of the traumatic experience.
