Born on March 17, 1941, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Bracky was a 1959 graduate of Ypsilanti High School. She married Robert Nelson West on October 7, 1959, at Congress Street Church of God in Ypsilanti, Michigan.

Bracky and her husband enjoyed traveling to various destinations, including Alaska, Prince Edward Island, Canada, Texas, Northern Ontario, Canada, and Hawaii. They also frequently visited the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Mackinac Island, and Shipshewana, Indiana.
