Calls for Shelter at Manulla Junction
There are calls for a shelter or cover at Manulla Junction as the number of people using the railways in Mayo increases.
The junction is a key transport point for rail passengers traveling in the Westport or Dublin direction, but currently, there is no shelter or roof to stand under, leaving people exposed to the elements.
Senator Mark Duffy Raises the Issue
Mayo FG Senator Mark Duffy, who sits on the Joint Transport Committee and is his party's transport spokesperson in the Seanad, raised the matter during a committee sitting.
Installing a shelter would be a matter of common sense
Irish Rail has stated that they would investigate the matter to see if a shelter could be installed.
- Approximately 6,474 customers have been issued with a notice.
