Nigeria: Extricating Nigeria From CPC Designation
Designation of Nigeria as a 'Country of Particular Concern' (CPC) was made by President Donald Trump under the International Religious Freedom Act of 1998 (IRFA).
This is the second time Nigeria has been designated as a CPC under a Trump administration, following the first designation in 2020, along with countries such as Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
This action didn't come as a complete surprise, as rumors of the designation had been circulating since earlier this year.
