Waymo, the self-driving company owned by Alphabet, is expanding its operations to highways, six new U.S. cities, and international markets, including London, with a goal of reaching one million rides by 2026.
“It is imperative that we scale,”
said Tekedra Mawakana, co-CEO of Waymo, during TechCrunch Disrupt 2025. The company plans to increase its weekly autonomous rides from hundreds of thousands to one million by the end of 2026, while maintaining a focus on safety.
