New Map Catalogues Nationwide CA-Funded Factory Farm Gas Network
A new interactive map released by Food & Water Watch showcases the comprehensive picture of factory farm biogas projects profiting from California’s Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS).
The LCFS program incentivizes factory farm pollution nationwide by rewarding methane production, leading to factory farm expansion and pollution in communities.
- 196 digesters in 16 states benefit from California’s LCFS.
- 45% of these projects are out-of-state.
Food & Water Watch, along with other organizations, is suing Governor Newsom’s California Air Resources Board (CARB) over its failure to address the biogas program’s health and environmental impacts.
